March 2019 – Brian Meeks

Brian has been with The Arc for over seven years. He currently is the home manager for our co-ed group home. Brian was nominated by Teresa Esche, Quality Assurance Manager who said “Brian always makes a special effort to ensure the home runs smoothly and consistently steps up to make sure things are completed. Brian also relates well and enjoys the individuals he works with. He is always respectful to the consumers, other staff and family members of persons served.”

What brought you to The Arc of Gibson County?

I’ve always wanted to help people and make a difference in the lives of others. I saw an opportunity to do that with The Arc and I’ve never looked back.

What do you like most about your job?

I really love the friendship and comradery you form with clients. Coming to work feels more like going to a second home to see your second family.

Who’s your role model?

My role model is my wife Kylee. Hands down, she is smart, caring and driven. She is such a strong woman, I do my best to stay as optimistic and motivated as her.

What’s one thing not many people know about you?

I am a 100% nerd! If people consider it nerdy, I probably do it.

 What’s your favorite thing about work at The Arc of Gibson County?

Making a difference and having a positive impact on the lives of others.

What have you gained from working at The Arc of Gibson County?

Working in this field provides many lessons in patience and compassion. I’ve gained friends and wonderful memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Unique – Family – Love

What’s your favorite memory from The Arc of Gibson County?

My favorite memory was singing early in the morning while assisting with showers.
