April 2017 – Tamika Liebhart, Toyota Enclave
Tamika started with The Arc of Gibson County in October of 2016. Tamika is a team leader for our Toyota Enclave, a few of her duties include train, supervise our consumers and inspect the parts they assemble. Her supervisor Nick Shades says “Tamika has only been with us for a few months but has already achieved a lot. She is hardworking and enjoys her job, always going above and beyond what she is asked to do.”

What brought you to The Arc of Gibson County?
The desire to help make a difference in the lives of others while working night shift.
What do you like most about your job?
Seeing our consumers succeed and take steps towards becoming more independent.
Who’s your role model?
Mildred Blake (deceased), retired teacher and my neighbor when I was in high school. I worked with her for 17 years, helping her, as an elderly disabled adult, stay in her home of more than 50 years.
What’s one thing not many people know about you?
I gave my car to a total stranger after they lost ever thing in the 2002 Poseyville tornado. They returned it a week later when insurance finally provided them with a rental car.
What have you gained from working at The Arc of Gibson County?
Friends and the privilege of being a part of other people’s success.

What’s your favorite memory from The Arc of Gibson County?
Teaching ASL signs and cued speech to my team members/consumers and seeing them enthuisiatic about learning them.
